Tracy your frustration & your piece resonates with me. It’s a shame that friends & family are not supportive. If not our friends & family, then who? Perhaps they’re not readers or they have no interest in our lives. But the good news is that we have perfect strangers who support & embrace what we write and what we share! My guess is some friends & family are probably secretly reading every word & keeping it to themselves. And in the process, we have touched them. But all you need is only one reader, one reader, who tells you how your writing impacted them & how your story is “inspirational” & gave them “goosebumps.” This is what a close friend texted me after she read a couple of my pieces.
